There are more college students than university students
More and more young Russians prefer secondary vocational education to the upper classes of secondary schools and admission to higher education institutions. The system inherited from the USSR is actively inculcated with post-industrial technologies and market approaches.
However, the growing demand for vocational training is not always justified by its quality, and the results of the consolidation of educational institutions are ambiguous. In addition, many go to a technical school not because of a conscious choice, but because they find themselves outside the school just to get a certificate.
